Bellman Visit – general questions  Back to top of document

Q: Since Bellman Visit is a wireless system, can we combine transmitters and receivers any way we want to?
A: Yes, the wireless function allows you to easily adjust the system according to your own needs.

Q: Does that mean that we can use, for example, two or more receivers instead of only one receiver?
A: Yes. You can combine as many transmitters with as many receivers as you like.

Q: Is it possible to purchase only a Bellman Visit Doorbell transmitter together with a Portable receiver or do I have to buy a whole package?
A: You can purchase the Bellman Visit units you need and ad more units later on.

Q: Because Bellman Visit uses radio communication for the wireless operation, is there any dangerous radiation?
A: Bellman Visit only transmits for about 2 seconds and with a 0,001 (one thousands) part of what a normal GSM mobile telephone does.

Bellman Visit Doorbell transmitter   Back to top of document

Q: Which type of battery should be used and what is the battery lifetime?
A: You need either 1 pcs 9 Voltage “6LR61” battery with a 3-5 years lifetime or a 9 Voltage Lithium battery with a 10-years lifetime.

Q: The Doorbell transmitter is sometimes activated but there is nobody ringing my doorbell.
A: You probably have a neighbor with a Bellman Visit system operating at the same channel. Set the transmitters and receivers to a different channel. For more information see PDF on top right side.

Q: The Doorbell transmitter does not activate when someone rings my doorbell.
A: The signal from your normal doorbell is perhaps too soft/silent for the Doorbell transmitter to hear. However, please try to increase the sensitivity by (1) opening the battery lid, (2) changing the no. 3 dip switch (on the 4-dip-switches control to the left). You should also move the Doorbell transmitter a little bit closer to the doorbell.

Q: The receiver is not alerting even though the transmitter is sending a signal.
A: Please check that the transmitter and receiver are operating on the same channel. All transmitters and receivers must be set to operate on the same channel. For more information see PDF on top right side.

Bellman Visit Baby-cry transmitter   Back to top of document

Q: Which type of battery should be used and what is the battery lifetime?
A: You need 2 pcs LR14 batteries which has an operating lifetime of more than 1 year.

Q: How close to the baby or child should I place the Baby-cry transmitter?
A: The Baby-cry transmitter should be placed standing on a table or chair, or hanging on the wall. It should be placed as close to the baby / child as possible but out of reach . We suggest a distance of 0,75 - 1 meter.

Bellman Visit Smoke Alarm transmitter   Back to top of document

Q: Which type of battery should be used and what is the battery lifetime?
A: You need 1 pcs 9 Voltage alkaline battery “6LR61” with a lifetime of approx. 1 year.

Q: Where should I mount the Smoke-Alarm?
A: The Smoke Alarm should be mounted outside the bedroom or in the entrance area. We recommend you to mount one Smoke Alarm per floor.

Q: There is a small, white wire sticking our from the Smoke Alarm. What is it?
A: The thin wire is an antenna that improves the operating range between the Smoke Alarm and the receivers. The antenna should point in the direction of the floor when the Smoke Alarm is mounted in the roof (i.e. in vertical direction).

Q: My receiver is alerting “smoke alarm” but with only a very short sound/vibration and intermittent light.
A: It is telling you that the battery in the Smoke Alarm should be replaced.

Q: Do I need to set the radio channel in the Smoke Alarm?
A: No you can’t. For safety reasons, the Smoke Alarm transmits on all channels within the Bellman Visit system (i.e. independently from the set channel).

Bellman Visit Portable receiver   Back to top of document

Q: Which type of batteries should be used and what is the battery lifetime?
A: You need 4 pcs 1,5 Voltage LR14 alkaline batteries. The lifetime is 2-3 years.

Q: How far away from the transmitters can I bring the Portable receiver?
A: The operating range if no obstacles is about 100 meters. Indoors, there are normally walls and other things that limit the operating range to about 30 meters. However, please consider that a normal house only is about 10-14 meter in length so in reality, the Bellman Visit will cover your whole home.

Q: The small light (“LED”) on the front indicates with yellow flashes when there is a call on the doorbell or the telephone.
A: It tells you that the batteries are drained and should be replaced.

Q: The Portable receiver works when I press the test button but not when there is a signal from any of the transmitters.
A: Check that all transmitters are set on the same channel and then re-program the receiver to operate on the same channel. For more information see PDF on top right side.

Q: Sometimes when the Portable receiver alerts, there is nobody in the telephone or outside my door.
A: You probably have a neighbor with a Bellman Visit system operating at the same channel. Reset the transmitters and receivers to a different channel. For more information see PDF on top right side.

Bellman Visit Pager receiver   Back to top of document

Q: Which type of battery should be used and what is the battery lifetime?
A: You need 1 pcs 1,5 Voltage LR03 alkaline batteries and the lifetime is about 1 month. However, by using the Bellman Visit Charger, BE1260, you can easily recharge the Pager. Each charge is good for about 20 days but we recommend our customers to always put the Pager in the Charger overnight.

Q: How far away from the transmitters can I bring the Pager?
A: The operating range if no obstacles is about 75 meters. Indoors, there are normally walls and other things that limit the operating range to about 30 meters. However, please consider that a normal house only is about 10-14 meter in length so in reality, the Bellman Visit normally covers your whole home.

Q: How do you turn the Pager off?
A: There is no “on/off” control switch since the Pager normally always should be in “on” position. However, you can stop the vibrations by pressing the red stop button placed on the Pager front side (if a fire however, you must first extinguish the fire / turn off the Bellman Visit Smoke Alarm transmitter). If you go a way for a longer time simply take out the battery.

Q: The small light (“LED”) on the front side close to the stop button indicates with red flashes and the Pager vibrators for a few seconds every minute.
A: It tells you that the batteries are drained and should be replaced or re-charged.

Q: Can I use a normal alkaline battery together with the Bellman Visit Charger?
A: No, you must use the enclosed re-chargeable battery (or an equivalent re-chargeable battery). If a normal battery is used, you might have leakage which severely damage the Pager.

Q: The Pager doesn’t work when there is a signal from any of the transmitters.
A: Please check that all transmitters are put on the same channel and the program the receiver to operate on the same channel. For more information see PDF on top right side.

Q: Sometimes when the Pager alerts a call, there is nobody in the telephone or outside my door.
A: You probably have a neighbor with a Bellman Visit system operating at the same channel. Reset the transmitters and receivers to a different channel. For more information see PDF on top right side.
